under the blue tent
on a green frosty blanket
the white tree stands vigil
The inspiration for this Haiku is the picture of this beautiful tree near my house!
A Haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five; traditionally evoking images of the natural world.
So beautifully clicked…. A nice Poetical Expression!
Thank you Sreedhar sir! The picture was clicked by my husband… I found it so enchanting that I couldn’t stop myself from writing a few lines on it. Happy that you liked the Haiku π
Nicely said. Witness silently many events, till they are chopped for development.
Thank you Abhijit sir, so true… blunt yet true… silent observers waiting for their fate to occur someday…
Brilliant!!
Thank you so much for stopping by Deepak! Welcome and hope to see you here often π
Wonderful haiku, as usual π

Yay, am so glad you liked it Kokila π but I still have miles to go before I sleep…
I didn’t think of the tricolour but… so it’s food for thought, eh? π
Btw, do read my first attempt as well – Sounds – you’ll find it under Haiku on Drishti!
Wishes n wishes back at you, and love n love too π
Beautifully written as usual Archana. It is wonderful to see your writing.
Thank you Santosh. It is equally wonderful to read such generous comments from my blogger friends π
I know I am late but will surely compensate with my comment here, so firstly sorry mes late. If this is your second creation of a Haiku, its exemplary and beautifully written. The rules are perfect, I personally am a big fan of the classic Haiku meaning a reference of nature or seasons. The modern Haiku’s are good too but the charm lies in classic. So for me this is super. Very fine words picked and woven well π Loved the pic too.
I write poems not attempted too many Haikus (I think my feelings to flow needs more syllables) π Now hope I compensated for the late comment π
Hey Shweta, you more than compensated my dear… thank you so much for the insights and compliment too…
I also like the classic Haiku, but want to try my hand at both… ofcourse, this is just the beginning and I still have a long way to go…. but happy to note that I have friends like you for company…
love and hugs π
PS – I love free-flowing poems too, but this one is an exciting genre… π
Wow Archana what a wonderful response.
Thanks much π I had written this one a day before you released the prompt; because of the picture that my husband clicked. And I thought it was a good take to submit for the prompt. Thank you for the appreciation and I am glad you liked it. Cheers π
The picture has been captured in the words so wonderfully Archana π Beautiful first classic attempt π (my time to get feedback now π ) Yours is a perfect haiku but couldn’t help but attempt a diff haiku on this.. hope you don’t mind.. That’s a wonderful click by your husband!
falling from the sky
