Simply beautiful….:)
Thank you so much UK 🙂
I guess soul is already pure. It’s the mind that is malign. Apart from technicality, nice thought 🙂
Using a poet’s privilege Ravish 🙂 Thank you for liking the thought… 🙂
Btw – souls can be impure too…. not just the mind…
Never heard about soul getting impure especially in Indian spiritualism & mythology. Curious to know the way: How soul gets impure?
There are two connotations to ‘soul.’ One, the Western concept where the soul is inherently impure and everyone a born sinner. Second, is of Atman. Atman, though is pure, but it is covered with the Karmic cloud / blanket. Unless we go past our Karmic burden, our pristine Atman doesn’t shine through. Towards that what helps is access to Grace and Bliss. That’s what I really wanted to say, Ravish 🙂
Well Dear, what you wanted to say I understood and appreciated the thought 🙂
I just wrote the soul segment playfully. But your reply quite aroused my interest.
Being born as sinner and having a soul is totally different thing, I guess. Biblical concept of Holy Spirit isn’t about the soul as we use in general because there isn’t any rebirth in Biblical concept.
🙂 glad it aroused your interest Ravish. Ultimately, what is important is that we connect and understand each other’s thoughts. By reading your posts I know this is an area of interest for you. Waiting for your posts now 🙂 Cheers buddy!

Thank you so much Mani. Always happy to get appreciated by a lovely poetess! 🙂
Loved the feeling behind this verse Archana, however, if we get to think on it I have my doubts whether a soul is impure…(but no strong claims as I am just a seeker:))
Hi Amitji, glad you liked the feeling behind the Haiku and could connect with it. About the purity and impurity of the soul, even Ravish raised it. You can read our conversation below here! To be very honest, when I wrote this – impurity wasn’t even on my mind. The picture I had was similar to the feeling that you have when you breathe fresh air in a jungle, and the good that it does not only to your body, but also your mind and soul. So soul here for me was in that connotation. It’s about purification and bliss of another level – not really that from being impure to pure… it was more about attaining nirvana at a certain level on seeing, appreciating and falling in love with the beauty and grace of this world 🙂 hope I have been able to convey my thoughts to you. 🙂
Thank you Archana:) This explanation says it all…in fact it has enhanced the very spirit of your wonderful haiku:):)
Aww… thanks Amiji… I promise not to disappoint you ever 🙂
These great words are really for purification
Thank you so much Yogiji 🙂
Beautiful sentiment expressed here. I was thinking about soul’s impurity part when I saw the same query by Amitji 🙂
Thank you so much Deepa. Am sure you must’ve read the conversation with Amitji then and got an idea of what I was talking about 🙂 Cheers!
