A complete Tomboy for many years, while I loved the feminine side of me including playing dress-up and doll-up for most occasions, the one thing I hated was the clean-up that needed to be done after the make-up or the day’s work. Ok, let me admit, I was downright lazy, and I spoilt my beautiful skin. So Tomboy or not, I have been a lazy lump about taking care of my skin. And that really hurt my skin for a long time. And given the fact that I am an avid traveller and travel without notice most times, my skin suffered a lot. The result was that I had to often waste a lot more time trying to restore my poor neglected skin, especially my face. Not to mention the amount of money I spent on those expensive procedures. And though they were helpful in the short term, in the long term it was just a waste of time and money.
I really didn’t appreciate and feel good about the blemishes and spoilt skin texture because my job was to constantly meet and interact with people. And I needed to look presentable at the least. That’s when I began my search for a simple facial cleanser. One that would help me exfoliate the dead cells easily and smoothen my skin texture without having to waste hours on some long winding and painful beauty processes. I preferred a soap free cleanser because I have sensitive combination skin. And my search finally ended up with Neostrata’s Foaming Glycolic Wash. It is a potent, pH-balanced, foaming, soap-free facial cleanser. I had done some glycolic peel facial processes earlier, so I was quite open to trying this face wash. It is ideal for experienced Glycolic Acid users who prefer a deep cleansing, as this face wash contains 18% Glycolic Acid and Lactobionic Acid to help enhance exfoliation. So, to be honest I was very excited to try this product.
The foaming wash contains high strength AHA – (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and I guess that’s why it has worked so well for me. If you are someone who is used to gentle cleansers throughout, then your skin may react adversely to this product in the beginning, because it is a much stronger product than what you are used to. However, with the Glycolic wash, persistence is truly the key. If you can get past the initial discomfort, the cleanser can work wonders for your skin. That’s what happened to me too in the beginning. Though I have combination skin, it is a bit sensitive and initially the cleanser used to cause irritation, redness and a bit of dryness on my skin. But, being used to glycolic peels I knew what to expect in the beginning. So I decided to continue it for ten days before giving up on it. And it did turn out to be miraculous. All it needed was to get acclimatised to the cleanser and its strength. And noticeably, it changed the texture of my skin and my skin became visibly clear. One important thing about this product is that it definitely does something for your skin, if you give your skin enough time to get used to the strength of the product.
I now have much brighter and softer skin and very few blemishes that are also fading now, since blemishes do take a long time to vanish completely from my skin. That’s the way it has always been. The important thing is that my skin feels nourished and not dehydrated and patchy the way it used to feel earlier. And the best part is that not only is it cost-effective as against spending small fortunes on various beauty procedures, but it is very time effective too. For the lazy bodies like me, all it needs is an AM PM use. Just pump a moderate amount of foam into your hands, apply it to wet skin and rinse it thoroughly with water. I don’t keep it on my skin for long. I wash it off immediately. A quick application of my favorite sunscreen post wash, and that’s it. I am done!
