Funny, but beautiful. A friend of mine has a pocket monkey. its so active and agile and full of expressions always.. 🙂
LOL.. they are cute no doubt! My uncle had a pet monkey called ‘devji’ when we were kids… what a riot he was man!!! 🙂 Thanks UK 🙂
Lovely haiku… complements the picture perfectly!
Thanks Arti 🙂
Hi Archana.. I liked the haiku as it does a create a word picture of a Monkey swinging…. Just wondered why would you term it as a nemesis.. When you write a haiku somehow I don’t see the picture you place. I trust that you create the haiku first and then put the right picture.. All the best.. !!! I have put one based on what I experienced at Ludhiana yesterday… RS
Hi RS! I answered the same thing above too… it’s usage of my poetic license to call the mischievous monkey an adversary. You know my uncle had a pet monkey and he was so crazy, it wasn’t funny. We’ve also had some horrendous tete-a-tetes with monkeys in the past… guess that’s where it was coming from :-p
Yes I create the Haiku first and then look for an apt image 🙂 I read yours, it was awesome 🙂
You are an expert in writing haiku dear! Very well written!

Why nemesis?
Using the poetic license to say they are too naughty, almost like an enemy Ravish 😉

So nice 🙂
Thanks Rupam 🙂
O so nice !
Thank you so much Milan 🙂
Love the image but aw, Archana, why are you calling monkeys a nemesis?
Thanks Lata… and like I have already said to so many folks here… didn’t mean to make the apes look nasty at all 🙂
‘Nemesis’ – is it used for the dense forests where he resides or is it used for the monkey? For me, it would make sense if it used for the deep, dark jungle – where monkeying around comes with a price….
No no no I didn’t mean it in a bad way Sunaina… it was more of fun and playful adversary that I was trying to convey, nothing dark and mean I promise 🙂
A different topic for a haiku! Loved it! And, what a cute pic! 😀
Thanks Rakesh 🙂
Not just forests, they can be seen in cities too 😀
